Consequently, it does not encompass all mutation rules within the Welsh language. When using this tool, please keep the following general principles in mind:
- Proper nouns are generally not mutated – e.g., Dafydd
- Only Welsh place names will undergo mutation – e.g., i Fryste (to Bristol), whereas i Birmingham remains unchanged
- Borrowed nouns from English typically do not mutate – e.g., dwy gêm (two games)
